Class Enviroment

Class Environment

A little while ago my friend Nalanee and I completed a Class Environment slide about how well our class has done in certain areas of this topic. I had to do the positives, Nalanee did the negatives. Finding positives was a bit hard, but I managed in the end.

My next step will be to maybe add a few more ideas and upload it quicker.

I got the ideas and information from experience in the class.

Is your environment nice and tidy?

Phoenix Collage

Cybersmart Phoenix

Last week I started a collage for Cybersmart. We could choose whatever we wanted to make, so I chose to do a phoenix. It was more of a complicated one, compared to some fishes and trees and houses, but I wanted to do something more complex than a simple fish, even if it was longer. It was still fun though!

My next step is to finish it quicker and complete it quicker.

What would you make if you had to?

Curiosity

Be Curious

This week's value was Be Curious. Our activity for this topic was about what we were curious about. We had to have a minimum of six things we wonder about and I found it a bit hard, I didn't have many things I thought and wondered about like that. But the six I have now are things I'm actually wondering about, so I'm pretty happy with myself.

My next step for this is to post it sooner and maybe add a few more things I'm curious about.

What things do you wonder about?

Mat Manners

Manners On The Mat

This week our School-Wide Expectation is Mat Manners. For this, we had to do an activity on the topic. We had to make a Google Drawing on things we needed to change and changes we can do to have perfect mat manners! Instead of my mat manners, I thought about others and what they could fix, since I couldn't think of anything for myself. Here's my work.

My next step is to complete it quickly so I can have it up on my blog sooner.

I got the information from experience in the classroom.

Do you have nice Mat Manners?

Comfort Zones

My Comfort Zones

Today our value of the week was Taking Risks. We had to do an activity where we showed what was in our Comfort Zone and what was outside of it. We had two options of what we could present it on, a Google Drawing or MindMup. MindMup is a new website where you can make something like what I did. It's kinda like Google Drawings, but way more fun! Here is my work!

I loved using MindMup, it made everything a lot easier and more fun!

I got the information from experience and some fun tries.

What's your Comfort Zone like?

Fanimals!

Fanimals Team Visits!

Today our school got a lucky visit from the Fanimals Team! Fanimals is a television show about animals, but I don't know too much about it since I don't watch it. We saw their dog, Molson, and we were the lucky class that got to have our picture taken with them! He's a Golden Retriever and is five years old; he was really cute. They also left prizes for us, some stuff we don't know about yet. Here are some pictures.

Us with Molson and Jess.

Here we're patting Molson.

Today was fun, and I think a lot of people enjoyed it. It was really awesome how they came to visit our school, and they gave us signed cards!

Have you watched Fanimals, and if so, what's your favourite animal?

My Next Step is to find more strengths about myself.

What are all your strengths?

Orana Park

Orana Wildlife Park

Yesterday our class went on a school trip to Orana Wildlife Park. We learned about many different animals, and my personal favourites were the cheetahs and the springboks.
Here are some pictures of our trip.
Here we are watching the springboks. I learned about these animals that they can jump much higher than their own height.

Here are the yaks. I learned that yaks can live at the highest altitude of any animal.

These are the lions, and I learned that a group of lions is called a pride.

As a reflection, I loved the trip, and I loved seeing all the animals. The trip was a blast.

We all got this information from our guide, Elizabeth.

What's your favourite animal?

Street Art Questions

Asking Questions

This week in our class we were focusing on Street Art and what it means. It was painted after the Christchurch earthquakes on the sides of buildings where other buildings had to be taken out from too much damage. The slide we did was asking questions about the Christchurch Cathedral and some pictures of Street Art.

My next step is to ask better and more descriptive questions.

I got the information from our teacher, Miss Waho!

What questions would you ask about these pictures?

Our Place Our Names

We did an assessment of what our place and our names mean in the school. We did this assessment a while ago, but I never got to publishing it. The ones blank are the ones I got incorrect, while the green ones I got correct! They are all correct here, though. So here it is!

My next step is to learn them and get all of them right.

I got this information from my teacher, Miss Waho.

Do you guys like the names?

Nalanee's Best Friend Award

Shout Out for Nalanee!

Today we were learning about how to be positive online. We did a shout out for someone to show online positivity, and I did my best friend, Nalanee, because she deserves it!

I think if I didn't have Nalanee in my life, I would be a bit different.

I found the photo from some pictures in my drive.

How do you think we can show more ways of being positive online?

How To Create Quality Blog Posts.

The Quality Blog Post

Today I will be sharing what a quality blog post is made of. We are using a rubric to learn about the points of a great blog post. The rubric has three levels, all containing different points of a blog post, getting into higher levels, the expectations for better blog posts get higher.

I haven't used a rubric before, but I find it very useful for our learning. I want to be in the Green Area, the Smart Learner, but I think right now I'm only on the Orange Area, the Stepping Up.

We got the information from the Uru Manuka Smart Learner resources, where the rubric was written.

If you could tell me how to improve my future blog posts, even more, I'd appreciate if you could give me some suggestions!

On Wednesday this week we had World Cultural Diversity Day. World Cultural Diversity Day is a day where people from different countries and cultures learn about others traditions and different ways to do things.

We did many different fun things, we had flags up around on our amphitheatre poles, people were representing their cultures by wearing clothes and accessories, people had brought lots of different foods to share, and we had a sausage sizzle to represent New Zealand! Here are a few photos of the day:

Everyone singing the National Anthem.

Shyla speaking!

Me infront of my flags:

Dancing Like The Stars

Dancing Like The Stars

Today my class was taught by a guy named Shawn. He was teaching us dance moves, positions, and other stuff for when we would be performing at Isaac Theatre. It was only our first session today, but Shawn said we had caught on fast. We're all excited and keen about doing this, so we'll put in effort. The moves we did weren't very hard, quite easy, to be honest.

We have different types of dance that are in this: Bollywood, Modern Jive, Tango, and some others we didn't learn today. On Friday, (Our next session) we'll learn positions and where we should be standing. Here are some pictures from our first lesson:

And a video:

Hope you enjoyed my post today! Bye guys!

Media Video

Media Video!

Kia Ora, people! For my school me and someone else got chosen for the Media Team. It's an awesome opportunity to learn more about technology, coding and videos! For a challenge we had to make a video about ourselves. We could only use Screencastify and pausing to show our favourite things. I didn't use Screencasify because I didn't have it, but that's okay. Here's my video! (Sorry, it wouldn't come up here, so just right click Here's and you will see the video. Sorry!)

Thanks guys, this was a challenge to make a video about yourself, and I think I did really well, and I'm excited for tomorrow, since I'm meeting everyone else that's on the Media Team! Thanks people, bye!!!

Top Team

Top Team Challenge

Kia ora, people! Last week the whole of Te Ara Takitini did Top Team. We were sorted into ten groups, going to play all the activities. There were activities like Burst Pipe, Super Ski Race, House of Cards and Noughts and Crosses.
Here are a few pictures from the super fun day (All of Burst Pipe.):

These are teams competing against each other, some people running to get water, someone pouring the water in the pipe, while others are plugging the holes. This is just one of the activities. There were so many fun acitivities. My favorite was Questions of Balance. I was so close and then dropped the bucket. But the whole day day overrall needs a 10/10.
Bye guys!
